was i inspired by ikea?
more than you know.
the past few days have been nothing but moving, rearranging, and making ideas come alive.
in the midst of the chaos, the excitement of the new, the schedule turned upside down,
my heart has been pulling at me.
change on the outside, in the home, is so fun and so refreshing.
it inspires me in so many ways.
but i know that what my home looks like is not enough.
it's a lesson heard over and over again... internal change is most important.
how clearly the situation in japan really puts life into proper perspective.
you see images like these everywhere,
a glimpse into their reality,
aimed to show us the magnitude of the devastation there.

all i see is the reality of what matters most.
you work and work and work to buy yourself stuff and nice expensive cars and in one instant it can be taken away, and you would be happy just to be left alive.
devon and i aim to live simply. at times we are tempted by the newer & nicer.
i believe everyone can get caught up in their appearance and neglect to maintain their heart.
at this moment i am so humbled by the images of completely destroyed stuff, i can't even say the word 'want', not in a material sense.
what i know is this:
our actions matter more than our possessions.
life is what really matters.
who we are is all that truly matters.
and it's never too late to change.
pretty words with good meaning.
